General station goals:
- Demonstrate ultrasound scanning safe practice (i.e. patient safety, machine safety, infection control, etc.)
- Discuss POCUS documentation practices (i.e. chart, discharge paper, Qpath, education paper)
- Demonstrate POCUS storage processes (i.e. patient identifiers, which button to press, etc)
Soft tissue station goals:
- Identify the anatomy of soft tissue with an ultrasound probe. Identify the soft tissue relationship to surrounding structures.
- Demonstrate understanding of the ideal probe(s) used to visualize the soft tissue.
- Generate and optimize the PEM POCUS views of the soft tissue demonstrating proper scanning technique
- Identify the structures of a normal POCUS soft tissue exam in each view. Demonstrate where pathology is likely to be present.
- Discuss the types of soft tissue pathology identified by POCUS
